Amey launches new programme to foster better relationships with its supply chain

Leading provider of critical infrastructure for local and national Government, Amey, has embarked on an engagement exercise to understand how it can work better with its supply chain partners.

A new Voice of the Supplier survey is being introduced to allow suppliers to provide feedback on what it is like to work and deliver services on behalf of Amey. It will also give Amey’s Secure Infrastructure procurement team a complete 360° visibility of opportunities, innovation, and challenges within their supply chain network.

Over the coming months, Amey Secure Infrastructure will launch a suite of tools that will ensure the organisation continues to build long lasting relationships with its supply chain. The survey puts collaboration and listening at the heart of how Amey operates by seeking feedback on the issues and topics that matter most to its suppliers and SMEs.

Craig McGilvray, Managing Director, Amey Secure Infrastructure, said: "Our supply chain partners are a key part of our success and play a critical role in helping us deliver key services on behalf of our customers. Every year we spend £1bn with small businesses and social enterprises. By taking time to listen and learn together, we are creating an environment that supports collaboration, innovation, safety and improves the service we deliver while making sure that Amey is playing its part in unlocking regional growth."

Key facts:

  • We have a national footprint and work with local communities nationwide, supporting local and regional growth and regeneration
  • 80% of our suppliers are SMEs
  • We have committed to spending £40m with social enterprises by 2023
